Italia
Italia is an ongoing photographic series created over multiple summers across Italy, mixing film and digital formats. Made in cities, villages, coastlines, and landscapes throughout the country, the work is less of a document of the country than my expression of my thoughts on memory, belonging, and the passage of time. Having grown up in Italy before moving to the United States, I return with a perspective shaped by both familiarity and distance. The camera becomes my way of navigating the diffrence between the country that formed me and the life I have built elsewhere. The whole thing is a dialogue between past and present identities. In photographing Italy over successive summers, I invite viewers to consider how places become inseparable from memory, and how returning can reveal not only what has changed, but also what remains within us.
